Rewards & Awards
House Points
We award house points for academic excellence. House point totals are collected on a Friday by our House Captains and added together to see who has the most. Working towards a goal with your team is a positive part of our school ethos.
Hawley Primary has 6 Golden Rules.
We use dojos to reward good behaviour and for following the golden rules at Hawley Primary School. These points are added together, and we work as a team to get a class reward.
Our Positive Relationships and Behaviour Policy details the way that we support and manage behaviour.
Children who choose to behave well are praised appropriately. The praise is given in several forms. For example: verbal, written /certificates, smiley face/stickers, friendly word referred to another adult, selection for Star of the Week, immediate class-based rewards, positions of responsibility and the sought after STEPS Award.
Steps Award
The STEPS award is awarded by the Headteacher to those children who consistently demonstrate excellent behaviour and are role models in our school. These children are polite and well-mannered and nominated by the adults in school. STEPS stands for Sorry, Thank you, Excuse me, Please and Smart.
